Adams & Martin Group is partnering with a large, well-established California law firm in the Long Beach area to hire a Human Resources Assistant. This role provides essential support across recruiting, onboarding, HR operations, benefits, and compliance. Key Responsibilities

Recruiting & Onboarding

  • Post job openings and support applicant tracking.
  • Coordinate interviews and communicate with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Assist with background checks, I-9s, and new hire onboarding logistics.

HR Operations

  • Maintain accurate employee records and update HRIS data.
  • Track personnel changes and prepare HR reports and documentation.

Benefits & Employee Support

  • Address routine employee and benefits inquiries.
  • Assist with benefits enrollment and open-enrollment materials.

Compliance & Projects

  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure policy and legal compliance.
  • Track required training and assist with HR initiatives, audits, and employee programs.
  • Support special projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of HR experience, ideally in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with HRIS platforms (ADP, Paycom, Workday, etc.).
  • Understanding of HR best practices and employment law fundamentals.
